About Vicki Szillage
Vicki Szillage – Music Educator, Choir Director, and Performer
Vicki Szillage is a dedicated music educator and performer with over 30 years of experience in piano, voice, and classroom music instruction. Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, she began studying piano at age five at the Yamaha Music School and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from National Taipei Teacher College in 1991. After moving to Chicago in 1997, she completed her Master’s Degree in Music Performance at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
Vicki has taught music across private studios and public schools in both Taiwan and the United States. Most recently, she served as the Elementary Music Teacher at Chicago Public School, where she developed a dynamic PreK–8 curriculum, led school-wide musical productions, and integrated Social-Emotional Learning into her music instruction. Prior to that, she built a thriving choral program at General George S. Patton School in Riverdale, IL, where her choirs received recognition from the National Music Association and were featured in the World’s Largest Concert.
A licensed music educator in both Taiwan and the U.S., Vicki is passionate about inspiring students through music. Her teaching fosters not only technical growth but also creativity, collaboration, and confidence. Many of her students have gone on to pursue music professionally, a testament to her mentorship and commitment to excellence. She continues to share her love of music through private instruction and community engagement.
